This song was my unofficial contribution to the 2006 LDS Mutual (youth program) theme, “Arise and shine forth that thy light may be a standard for the nations.” It probably won’t contribute to memorization since it isn’t a verbatim scriptural setting, but I hope the young people will enjoy it. The SAB mixed chorus arrangement of this anthem is designed to be very easy to learn. The last chord divides the sopranos and the men, but otherwise the arrangement is mostly unison and two- or three-part. The duet version’s accompaniment is different from the others. It can also be used to accompany a solo rendition–just follow the melody line throughout. A glorious dawn o’er all the world is breaking Arise!

I direct a traditional church choir in Southwest Missouri, and our church is one of only 2 or 3 in our community that maintains an SATB choir.
As a music educator, I feel very strongly about the importance of a choir in worship, and of the opportunity that it offers for Christians of varying levels of musical talent to contribute to worship in a meaningful way. All that to say, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. We love your music!
